LGR – Prime 17 Finest Computer system Game titles of the 2000’s

Celebrating a few a long time of Computer system gaming! I choose a glance at my private leading online games for the Computer system, ending with this online video of the many years 2000-2009. Ah, the era in which the Computer system starts off actually getting shafted owing to lame publisher dominance and a console-centric industry. Even now tons of wonderful online games, despite this!

This is one hundred% subjective and my have viewpoint, nothing at all far more. Game titles were decided on on the basis of how wonderful the activity was and how generally I go back and participate in them. Why 17? Simply because it is an odd quantity, very odd.

My apologies to Assassin’s Creed two. I adore you, but your publisher Ubisoft was an complete turd with the obnoxious and pathetic DRM expected to participate in on the Computer system. I despise Ubisoft, not Ezio, for creating one of my leading 10 online games of the 10 years unplayable on my system of choice. Absolutely sure, it is been considerably “set” now, but I have not overlooked, as Ubisoft has not repented.

  1. I played Half Life 1 when it first came out and it was love at first sight, how it went from survival horror to a gun-slinging romp through Black Mesa. Then Half Life 2 came out, and I hated it. It was everything Half Life wasn't, the characters were flat the story was uninspired. It was just a run of the mills FPS, and the only reason its still remembered so fondly was the ground breaking source engine. To be perfectly honest it was the 2004 version of The Order 1886, in terms of looked great but the story was bland and the game play was average. If all a game has going for it is game play it better be original and fun enough to carry it, and Half Life 2, in my opinion it just wasn't enough.

  2. Not a single MMORPG? WoW, Eve, Everquest, DaoC, AO, UO, etc. With one or two exceptions (which tanked hard) exclusively PC, and quite a few having a massive mod community. Maybe just not your interest I suppose.

  3. Why didn't you bring up New Vegas instead of F03? The whole "being more of a Bethesda fan than fallout fan" thing?

  4. I actually like GTA IV, never understood the hate it got. Outside of Roman being annoying with his constant calling.

  5. I also preferred new vegas to fallout 3, i prefer new vegas to fallout 4 too. 4 really disappointed me, the weapons, the armor, the way you loot, I don't know, I just don't like it.

  6. I'd pick the Gothic series over The Elder Scrolls any time, I just love Gothic 1 – 3, Gothic 4 Arcania sucks tho.

  7. so is this top 17 best games? or top 17 community mod games for the 00s? Let's face it, half life 2, while the engine was solid, the gameplay was boring and the story was absolutely shite. And don't give me that crap about it being "purposefully vague" and "drawing your own conclusions" that's not good alternative writing, that's lazy.

  8. A little bias – no real RTS games. RTS games made up a lot of early (2000-2006) 00s games. Company of Heroes would have fit the bill perfectly.

  9. Honestly, I started playing Sims 1 as a teenage girl and now play Sims 3 and 4 as a stay at home mom! Those games never get old!

  10. Wish there had been a Command and Conquer game on this or the 90s list. those were my favorite PC games growing up, and so far the only ones I went through the hassle of revisiting recently
